Track Layer Apprenticeship 2027

You work with your team outdoors on construction sites on our tracks. Together you lay new rails and switches, inspect everything for damage, and replace defective parts. With the help of modern machines, you renew the ballast under the tracks. You pay close attention to all measurements – so that trains later run smoothly and safely. During your apprenticeship as a track layer, you are already an important part of the team and ensure every day that our trains run reliably. You are regularly at various locations (vocational school in Ludwigshafen, training workshops in Frankfurt am Main and Ludwigshafen, and practical assignments in Gießen).

• You have successfully completed (or will soon complete) school and your school leaving certificate is recognized in Germany.
• Your German language skills correspond to at least level B2.
• Sitting at a desk is not for you – you prefer to work outdoors.
• You are motivated and reliable.
• You enjoy teamwork and like to pitch in.
• Different work locations and working hours as well as night shifts are a welcome change for you.
