Rail Traffic Controller Apprenticeship 2027

Three-year apprenticeship in rail traffic control at DB InfraGO AG starting on 1 September 2027. Practical training takes place in signal boxes across the greater Schleswig-Holstein area. Vocational school classes take place in blocks in Hamburg-Nettelnburg, and the training centre is in Hamburg-Hammerbrook. You coordinate trains and help keep journeys safe and on time.

• Your colleagues show you step by step how to operate the equipment in a signal box correctly
• You learn when to press the right buttons to change signals or points that allow trains to switch tracks
• You are often in contact with other rail traffic controllers, control centre staff and train drivers
• You are an important part of the team and help passengers travel safely and on time on our trains

• You will soon successfully finish school, and your school qualification is recognised in Germany
• Your German skills are at least at B2 level
• You stay calm and keep track of things even in difficult situations
• You enjoy taking responsibility and working with focus
• You are reliable and work well in a team
• You are willing to work shifts
• An aptitude examination is part of the selection process for this apprenticeship.
