Dual Study Program Civil Engineering with Apprenticeship 2027

4.5-year dual study program leading to a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering with an integrated apprenticeship as a track construction worker at DB InfraGO AG. Theory phases take place at Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal, and the practical part at DB InfraGO AG in Schwerin, at vocational school in Magdeburg and in the training workshop in Königsborn near Magdeburg. Your studies start in the 2nd year alongside the apprenticeship, the apprenticeship ends in the 3rd year, and after 4.5 years you finish with your bachelor thesis. A suitability examination is part of the selection process.

• Start with a 1-month practical placement to get to know the company and department
• Work alternately with the track construction crews and in the office
• Learn in vocational school and training workshop and support colleagues on site
• In your studies, learn engineering fundamentals, construction technology, geotechnics, hydraulic engineering, transport, plus business, law and project management
• Work in construction supervision, e.g. construction cost calculation and project management
• Tasks in track construction such as inspecting, maintaining and fixing faults on tracks and switches
• Be on construction sites from surveying to quality control

• Abitur (soon) successfully completed or an equivalent vocational qualification (those qualified through work must meet the enrollment requirements of FH Magdeburg)
• Your favorite subjects are math and physics
• You enjoy teamwork and manual skill comes naturally to you
• You look forward to varied tasks between office, planning and construction site with changing work locations and hours (incl. night shifts)
