Starting 1 August 2027, we are looking for you for the approx. 4-year Dual Study Program in Industrial Engineering Railway Systems (B. Eng.) at DB InfraGO AG in Leipzig with the target function of Trainer (f/m/d). In parallel, you complete an apprenticeship as a Train Traffic Controller (f/m/d). You learn how train traffic is controlled and gain insights into modern signal box technologies. Theory and practice phases alternate regularly. You complete your theory phases at the Erfurt University of Applied Sciences. During your practice phases, you familiarize yourself with tasks in train traffic control. Additionally, you gain comprehensive insights into the work as a trainer for train traffic control. After 2 years, you complete your apprenticeship in the electronic signal box and gain practical experience in the operations center in Leipzig. In the further course of study, you deepen your knowledge at FH Erfurt in railway systems and economics. You learn, among other things, infrastructure planning, transport economics, and transport policy.

Learning train traffic control and modern signal box technologies, alternating theory and practice phases, theory phases at Erfurt University of Applied Sciences, practice phases in train traffic control and as a trainer, completion of apprenticeship in electronic signal box after 2 years, practical experience in Leipzig operations center, deepening knowledge in railway systems and economics (infrastructure planning, transport economics, transport policy)

You have successfully completed (or soon will) your (subject-specific) university entrance qualification (Abitur/Fachabitur) or possess a comparable professional qualification (professionally qualified applicants must meet the respective enrollment requirements at FH Erfurt). Math and physics are your favorite subjects. Your interest in railway operations as well as economic and technical interrelationships is strong. You keep a cool head even in difficult situations and have good coordination skills. Your focused work style and good communication skills characterize you. You are willing to work in shift duty and (after apprenticeship) also on weekends and public holidays. Moreover, you are mobile.

For your apprenticeship success we provide the best conditions: you receive a notebook from us for learning and private use. We support you in settling into your new city! If you commute more than 2.5 hours daily from your previous residence and rent a closer apartment, you receive a rent subsidy of up to 400 € per month. After your successful graduation, you receive a takeover offer at DB.
