Dual Study Programme in Industrial Engineering with Training as a Train Traffic Controller 2027

You want to combine theory and practice from the start - and at the same time actively contribute to the expansion of infrastructure in Germany - then the Dual Study Programme in Industrial Engineering Railway Systems is exactly right for you, because with your know-how you ensure that Germany stays mobile! From 01 August 2027 we are looking for you for the approximately 4-year Dual Study Programme in Industrial Engineering Railway Systems (B. Eng.) at DB InfraGO AG in Berlin. In parallel you will complete an apprenticeship as a Train Traffic Controller (f/m/d).

• You will learn how train traffic is controlled and gain insights into modern signal box technologies. Theory and practice phases alternate regularly
• You will complete your theory phases at the FH Erfurt
• In practice you will gain insights into train traffic control, timetable planning and construction site coordination
• After 2 years you will complete your apprenticeship in the electronic signal box and gain practical experience in the operations centre in Berlin Pankow
• In the further course of studies you will deepen your knowledge at FH Erfurt in railway systems and economics
• Later you can choose between the target functions Head of Operations District and Emergency Manager or Track Management & Planning

• You have successfully completed your (subject-specific) Abitur (soon) or have a comparable professional qualification (professionally qualified persons must meet the relevant requirements for enrolment at FH Erfurt)
• Maths and physics are your favourite subjects
• You have a strong interest in railway operations as well as economic and technical interrelationships
• You keep a cool head even in difficult situations and have good coordination skills
• Your concentrated way of working and good communication skills characterise you
• You are willing to work in shift duty and (after the apprenticeship) also on weekends and public holidays
