Dual Study Program in Artificial Intelligence

Your future team at the Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (IFA) primarily supports the statutory accident insurance institutions in scientific-technical questions on occupational safety and health. The diverse tasks include research, development, product testing, operational measurements, consulting, and participation in standardization. A dual study program with us enables you to enter a significant field for occupational safety and health. The dual study program lasts eight semesters and concludes with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). You combine your studies at the RheinAhrCampus in Remagen with three practical semesters at our site in Sankt Augustin. During your practical phases, you will learn the fundamentals of software development, modeling, and machine learning and apply your knowledge in practice. You will participate in various IT projects and gain insights into the development and application of modern AI technologies. You will support exciting research projects and learn how artificial intelligence can be used in the field of occupational safety and health. You will gain practical experience and develop your professional skills step by step.

You have completed or are about to complete school with a good to very good general or subject-specific university entrance qualification; you are interested in mathematics and computer science and want to understand how artificial intelligence works; you are committed and show interest in learning new things; you enjoy working in a team and have fun conceiving and designing; you have English language skills or want to develop them further; you have good German language skills in word and writing (at least level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
