Training in the Abitur Programme to Become a Retail Management Specialist (IHK) 2027

Three-year training and further-education programme to become a retail management specialist (IHK) at EDEKA. After 18 to 24 months, participants can obtain the qualification as a retail sales specialist, followed by the retail management specialist (IHK) qualification at the end.

Advise customers; manage sales, purchasing, ordering and inventory; present products in a way that promotes sales and help shape the range and product displays; plan and organise sales; operate tills and complete cash reconciliations; advise customers on services; manage an area of the store; determine and analyse business performance indicators; manage employees and train new trainees; help steer business processes; acquire knowledge of business administration, marketing, work organisation, accounting, branch accounting, organisation, logistics and sales; participate in sales-promotion projects.

Good higher-education entrance qualification, either Abitur or Fachabitur; determination; enjoyment of interacting with people and an open attitude; sense of responsibility and commitment; interest in business processes and relationships; friendly manner, well-groomed appearance and good communication skills; team spirit and quick comprehension.
