Apprenticeship as a Retail Salesperson with Additional Qualification as a Fresh Food Specialist 2027

The apprenticeship initially lasts two years. During this period, you begin an additional qualification as a Fresh Food Specialist (IHK), completed after three years with a separate IHK examination. You can then continue with the third year as a retail sales specialist or complete the additional qualification as a trained salesperson.

• Serve and advise customers in fresh food and service-oriented food departments
• Operate checkouts, complete reconciliations and advise customers on services
• Help shape product presentation, assortment planning, marketing and merchandise setup
• Store and handle fresh food professionally and observe hygiene standards
• Design sales and tasting events and evaluate their success using inventory management data
