Chemical Plant Operator

Chemical plant operator (m/f/d) at Evonik Operations GmbH in Herne. Work in chemical production, controlling and monitoring plants in shift work. The position is fixed-term until 31 August 2027.

• Starting up, shutting down, controlling and monitoring production, auxiliary and ancillary plants using operating data
• Occasionally covering control room duties (substitute)
• Charging of raw materials and products
• Packaging of liquid waste
• Isolating pumps, pipes and equipment (repair preparation)
• Sampling, evaluating and recording analyses
• Documenting operating and maintenance data
• Cleaning and maintenance work
• Reporting and fixing faults, and implementing and complying with safety, environmental and occupational health rules
• Briefing employees of partner companies

• Successfully completed training as a Chemikant (chemical plant operator), production/industrial specialist in chemistry, or comparable training
• Several years of professional experience in chemical production, experience operating plants and handling hazardous substances
• Basic knowledge of production processes and process engineering, basic knowledge of MS Office
• Good German and English skills, spoken and written
• Reliable team player with a high sense of responsibility and safety awareness, strong communication and cooperation skills, and a flexible way of working
• Forklift license required (ideally crane license), physical fitness in line with the occupational health examination for respirator wearers G.26.3
• Willingness to do shift work and to serve in the part-time plant fire brigade
