Commercial Apprenticeship as Industrial Mechanic

• An apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic is just as multifaceted as it is varied. It combines the areas of mechanics and control technology. You will learn how to manufacture, set up and assemble components. Among other things, you will assemble electrotechnical components of control technology, carry out error analyses, maintain equipment, learn and comply with occupational safety and environmental protection regulations. Your apprenticeship lasts three and a half years – under certain conditions you can also shorten it. After successfully completing your apprenticeship, you are an industrial mechanic. After completing your apprenticeship, you will be able to, among other things:
• Carry out activities independently in compliance with the relevant regulations and safety standards, coordinate your work with upstream and downstream areas and work in a team
• Set up workplaces
• Organize and control production or manufacturing processes
• Communicate appropriately to the situation
• Control and document maintenance and assembly work taking into account the company's quality management systems
• Manufacture components and assemblies and assemble them into technical systems
• Identify and document faults and their causes in technical systems
• Maintain technical systems
• Carry out maintenance and inspections
• Select test procedures and test equipment

Intermediate school leaving certificate or equivalent At least satisfactory grades in mathematics, technology and physics Interest in manual activities Dexterity and technical understanding Strong communication skills and teamwork Sense of responsibility, reliability and careful way of working Car driving license PC skills (Office)
