Plastics and rubber technologist apprentice

Apprenticeship at Lehmann&Voss&Co. in Hamburg-Wandsbek starting on 1 August 2027. Learn to prepare, mix, process and test raw materials for specialist plastics. Training lasts 3 years, with blocks of vocational school lessons at ITECH in Wilhelmsburg.

• Learn the basics of plastics and rubber processing and materials science
• Set up, operate, monitor and control production equipment, especially extruders
• Work with raw materials, mixtures, process settings and production records
• Carry out quality tests and understand how processing creates material properties
• Identify minor faults and help with maintenance and safe production processes
• Produce compounds, masterbatches and pastes
• Prepare materials, run equipment and carry out follow-up work
• Keep records, support production processes and check quality
• Explore related departments, including the laboratory, logistics, and product and process development

• An extended basic or intermediate school certificate with a good grounding in maths, physics and chemistry
• Interest in technology, materials and production processes
• Practical and manual skills, care and a sense of responsibility
• Teamwork, reliability and willingness to work in production, including shifts
