About this Apprenticeship
Permanent position starting at the earliest possible time in the RCM-ILS Actuarial P&C department at Hannover Re in Hannover. The team combines reinsurance with capital markets, analyses complex risks and creates the quantitative basis for Insurance-Linked Securities transactions such as catastrophe bonds, as well as for the risk management of the Insurance-Linked Securities central division.
What You'll Learn
- Start with a structured onboarding and take on responsibility step by step for risk analyses and transactions
- Use licensed geophysical models to analyse natural catastrophe risks and create risk analyses
- Support the analysis of reinsurance portfolios and the evaluation of individual reinsurance contracts
- Contribute to structuring catastrophe bonds
- Work closely with underwriting and risk experts as well as external partners and prepare analysis results suited to the audience
Requirements
- Successfully completed master's degree in mathematics, financial mathematics, physics or a comparable natural science field with a very good grade
- First practical business experience, e.g. through relevant internships, working student jobs or comparable activities in a quantitative environment, is mandatory
- Very good Excel skills
- Fluent German and English skills
- You analyse complex matters in a structured and solution-oriented way, question results critically, recognise key connections, adapt quickly to new situations and communicate your findings clearly and understandably
- You enjoy working in a team, actively contribute your ideas and add to an open and constructive professional exchange
