About this Apprenticeship
Permanent position starting at the earliest possible date in the RD83 Engineering USA/London Market department in Hannover. The international team underwrites facultative business for construction and infrastructure projects, power plants and renewable energy, as well as risks from energy processing, oil and gas, and mining.
What You'll Learn
- Be responsible for acquiring, assessing and negotiating facultative reinsurance offers from the US and London market
- Analyze engineering offers
- Monitor markets and competition and develop the engineering portfolio
- Maintain lasting relationships with international business partners and meet them regularly on site
- Develop underwriting processes and tools with interdisciplinary teams
Requirements
- Successfully completed degree, preferably in engineering, mechanical engineering or civil engineering; business degrees also considered
- Several years of relevant underwriting experience at a primary insurer or reinsurer, ideally in engineering
- Solid technical understanding and experience analyzing complex risks and coverage concepts
- Knowledge of the London or US insurance market and willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis
- Fluent German and English and a clear, audience-appropriate communication style
- Good structure and a clear focus on essentials, reliable delivery, sound decisions, and openness to change
