Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the GRM Actuarial Function P&C team at our headquarters in Hannover / Germany, join us on a temporary, part-time basis (15 - 19 HPW) for 24 months, commencing as soon as possible as a Working Student Mathematics Reserving Risks. Our team analyzes and quantifies reserving risks for Hannover Re’s Property & Casualty insurance business.

• Contribute to the continuous development and implementation of automated processes for the calibration of reserving risks
• Support the preparation and execution of test cases for new applications and processes
• Assist with the introduction and migration of new systems and contribute to ensuring smooth implementation
• Contribute to quarterly reporting in Risk Management
• Collaborate closely with various specialist departments and gain insight into the diverse interfaces and interdependencies within our processes
• Support the team with ad hoc requests in line with the priorities of the Risk Function

• Ongoing Master’s studies in Mathematics, Business Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or a comparable degree program with a quantitative focus
• Initial experience in the financial services or insurance industry through internships / working student positions or actuarial expertise, e.g. through DAV courses, is an advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and experience working with databases
• Very good programming skills in Python as well as basic knowledge of R and Matlab
• German and English at a business-fluent level, combined with a good sense for collaboration in an international environment
• Ability to recognize complex interdependencies, quickly familiarize yourself with new subject areas and communicate findings in an understandable manner
