About this Apprenticeship
Construction mechanic apprenticeship at the sand and gravel plant in Hagenbach near Karlsruhe, starting on 1 September 2027. Learn to service, repair and maintain conveyors, crushers and screens. Much of the training takes place directly at the equipment.
What You'll Learn
- Keep modern equipment running: Help service, repair and maintain largely automated processing equipment that turns sand and gravel into high-quality building materials.
- Learn how sand and gravel become high-quality building materials: Gain insight into extraction and processing and learn how the different machines work together.
- Find out why equipment is not working: Investigate faults in conveyors, crushers and screens with your team and get the equipment working again.
- Fit, assemble and work on metal components: Replace worn parts, adjust components such as screens, pipes and hoses, and help ensure reliable plant operation.
- Take responsibility during daily operations: Use a wheel loader to help load trucks and ensure customers receive sand and gravel on time.
- Work outdoors rather than only in a workshop: Much of your training takes place directly at the equipment, where you experience technology in daily use.
Requirements
- You have a lower or intermediate secondary school qualification
- You are interested in technology, machinery and practical work
- You enjoy hands-on work and prefer being active to sitting at a desk all day
