Senior Data Engineer – PostgreSQL

Senior Data Engineer for PostgreSQL databases at IPDynamics. Responsible for design, development, and optimization of PostgreSQL data models, data warehouse systems, and ETL processes.

Design and development of robust PostgreSQL data models and architectures for our SaaS platforms; conception and implementation of data warehouse systems and ETL pipelines; performance optimization of database queries and structures from a development perspective; technical support of product migrations – such as the migration of individual modules and components to a PostgreSQL database; co-design of hybrid database landscapes (PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server) in the context of cloud migrations and consolidations; conception of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies (e.g., with pgBackRest, Barman, or EDB BART), implementation in coordination with the operations team; consulting customers and mentoring colleagues; active participation in architecture rounds.

Several years of experience in database development with PostgreSQL: data modeling, query optimization, very good SQL skills; experience in designing ETL processes and data warehouse architectures; understanding of high availability concepts (e.g., streaming replication, Patroni, PgBouncer); knowledge of CloudNativePG and basic understanding of Kubernetes in database context; ideally experience with Microsoft SQL Server in hybrid environments; advantage: experience with database visualization tools, e.g., Apache Superset; very good German skills (at least C1).
