Design Engineer

The Komax Group is a pioneer and market and technology leader in solutions for automated cable processing. As a globally active Swiss company, Komax develops and produces series machines, customer-specific systems, quality assurance modules, test devices, networking solutions and services. A design engineer is wanted for the development of systems and mechanical assemblies.

• Development of systems and their mechanical assemblies, new or adapted designs while keeping to project budget and milestones
• Generating new ideas and developing products, modules and system parts
• Estimating effort and resources for projects relating to mechanical designs
• Carrying out design reviews and design FMEAs
• Creating and releasing technical drawings in the CAD system
• Carrying out preliminary tests and documenting the test results for high-risk designs
• Preparing the required CE documents (risk assessment)
• Technical support of projects from concept to series readiness
• Assembly of self-designed assemblies, process stations and/or system parts and support during commissioning

• Completed technical vocational training with further qualification as a state-certified mechanical engineering technician (m/f/d), certified design engineer (m/f/d) or comparable qualification
• Work experience in special machine construction or precision engineering is desirable
• Sound expertise in working with CAD systems
• Experience with PLM and PDM systems
• Confident use of MS Office applications
• Confident German and English skills, spoken and written
• Technical understanding and spatial awareness
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Independent, structured and reliable way of working
