Apprenticeship as Environmental Technologist for Wastewater Management

As an environmental technologist for wastewater management, you work at the wastewater treatment plant and plan, monitor, control and document important process flows related to water treatment. You monitor water treatment in the mechanical, biological and chemical treatment stages. During your apprenticeship you learn to analyze wastewater and sewage sludge samples. You can document the results, evaluate them and use the findings for process optimization. Your tasks also include all activities related to the technical maintenance of the treatment plant: you inspect, maintain, clean and repair. During your apprenticeship you not only learn the processes in a wastewater treatment plant. You receive comprehensive training as an electrically qualified person, acquire basic knowledge of locksmithing and learn to comply with legal requirements, standards and regulations. You will later be deployable as an "all-rounder" in wastewater treatment. During your apprenticeship you attend the Hans-Viessmann vocational school in Waldeck-Frankenberg/Eder. To stay up to date, you take part in in-house training by our instructors and attend inter-company training centers at DEULA Rhineland-Palatinate in Bad Kreuznach. Your deployment area is the civil engineering department and specifically the wastewater treatment plant in Steindorf.

Lower secondary school diploma (Hauptschulabschluss). Good knowledge of mathematics and natural sciences. Interest in environmental protection and physical fitness. Manual and technical skills as well as a sense of responsibility. High ability to work in a team. Ability to recognize connections and not shy away from working in all weather conditions.
