Apprenticeship as Medical Technologist for Radiology - MTR

As a trainee MTR starting on 01.10.2027 in the Med 360° network, you get to know different locations in the area and experience step by step how radiology works: safe handling of high-tech equipment, working with doctors and caring for patients. The main location for the practical part is Radiologie 360° at Sana Hospital Gerresheim, while the theoretical classes take place at our own MTR school in Leverkusen.

• Learning the proper use of modern imaging methods, especially X-ray, CT and MRI
• Introduction to radiation therapy and nuclear medicine and gradually learning the procedures used there
• Participating in and assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to your level of training
• Caring for and accompanying patients before, during and after examinations
• Support in preparing and organizing a smooth examination process
• Learning the proper documentation of examinations and patient data
• Getting to know and applying quality, hygiene and safety standards as well as radiation protection regulations
• Working with the radiology team and other professional groups in everyday clinical work

• Minimum age: 17 years
• School leaving certificate: Mittlere Reife, Fachhochschulreife or Abitur
• Good knowledge of biology, physics, mathematics and chemistry
• If your school certificate is not from Germany, Algeria, India, Iran, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey or Ukraine, you need recognition of your certificate by the Bezirksregierung (district government) for your application
• Interest in medical topics and enjoyment of working with people
• Good German skills, spoken and written
