Toolmaker

In this apprenticeship, you will learn how to manufacture and assemble various tools and technical systems used to produce cars.

Manual and machine-based material processing, including filing, sawing, drilling, turning, milling and forming; manufacturing and assembling stamping and forming tools; creating, testing and optimizing programs for numerically controlled machine tools; heat-treating tools and carrying out hardness tests; learning the basics of additive or generative manufacturing using 3D printing.

Technical understanding and practical skills; good knowledge of mathematics and physics; interest in modern manufacturing processes; good spatial awareness; a responsible, careful and precise working style; at least a good Realschulabschluss, an intermediate school-leaving certificate.

Attractive pay ranging from €1,242 in the first year of training to €1,586 in the final year, depending on the location; excellent chances of permanent employment after successfully completing the apprenticeship.
