The dual study program at Mercedes-Benz offers you not only a solid academic education and practical experience but also a significant corporate experience. Through the campus model, you experience the corporation up close! In joint trainings and seminars, mostly held in Stuttgart, you meet students from all plants. During your practical phases in the second and third year of study, you start at your home plant Hamburg. Mechanical engineers master the constructive and experimental new and further development of products, they plan and design machines and systems or control and monitor production and assembly. You spend the theoretical phases at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in Stuttgart. You will learn fundamentals of mechanical engineering such as physics and technical mechanics, production engineering and materials. In the production engineering specialization, focus is placed on production engineering and automation technology. In the practical phases you gain experience e.g. in testing or toolmaking, in production or development, in planning or process development.
