About this Apprenticeship
- The Mercedes-Benz Cars Procurement & Supplier Quality (MP) division is responsible for the procurement of production materials and supplier quality for Mercedes-Benz AG with an annual procurement volume in the double-digit billions. With the topics of cooperations, award and committee management, and game-theoretic awards, the MP/BC2 team (Award Management & Optimization New Product Projects) is responsible for a multifaceted range of tasks and makes an important contribution to the entire company. Tasks in detail:
- Accompanying, supporting, and advising procurement departments in the application of microeconomics and game theory in award projects
- Optimizing procurement results and increasing competitive intensity by defining case-specific negotiation mechanisms based on auction and game-theoretic approaches
- Participating in cross-divisional workshops with procurement, development, quality, and logistics to ensure comparability of suppliers and offers
- Building and further developing IT-supported tools for evaluating and analyzing supplier offers
- Contributing to the implementation of game-theoretic methodological competence for award and negotiation designs within procurement
- Supporting the creation of training materials
- Participating in conducting training for procurement staff on the application of game theory in award and negotiation situations

Requirements
- Degree program in economics, engineering, psychology, natural sciences, or a comparable field
- Knowledge of game theory, behavioral economics, and/or other areas of microeconomics is desirable
- Proficient in MS Office
- Strong German and English skills, both written and spoken
- Analytical thinking skills
- High commitment and teamwork skills
- Communication and presentation skills
