Apprenticeship - Plant Mechanic (Maintenance) Region 2027

In your 3.5-year apprenticeship at our subsidiary NBB Netzgesellschaft Berlin - Brandenburg mbH & Co. KG, you will learn all the necessary fundamentals of the plant mechanic profession with a focus on maintenance. The practical training takes place at our cooperation partner, LWG Lausitzer Wasser GmbH & Co. KG in Cottbus, while the theoretical training is at the Oberstufenzentrum 1 Spree Neiße in Forst. Together with your colleagues, you ensure the safe and flawless operation of the gas supply in one of Germany's largest regional distribution networks. During the diverse apprenticeship, you will acquire important qualifications and go through various areas of gas network operation. With a completed apprenticeship as a plant mechanic specializing in maintenance, you become the hero of the network world! In the area of maintenance and inspection, you ensure that the gas network functions smoothly, and the repair and restoration of technical faults are also your responsibility. As needed, you can also participate in the planning of piping systems and ensure they meet technical requirements. You can further qualify professionally and personally through continuing education, for example as an employee in the fault clearance service, as a specialist in operational plant service, technician, technical business administrator, network master, or designer.

Core and specialized qualification in metalworking in the workshop area. Plan piping systems, manufacture according to drawings, install fittings. Inspect, maintain, and repair gas pipelines. Maintain and service gas pressure regulating and measuring stations. Install and remove gas meters of all sizes.

You are curious, want to contribute to the energy transition, and enjoy working in a team as much as we do. You are into technology and manually skilled? You pitch in, like being outdoors, and are full of energy. You have a good intermediate school leaving certificate (MSA), a good extended vocational qualification, or a successfully completed (technical) high school diploma, especially in math and physics. You have German language skills at level C1 at the start of the apprenticeship to successfully master the challenges. You meet all requirements for obtaining a class B driver's license at the start of the apprenticeship.

We work together in our modern facilities or on various construction sites in the state of Brandenburg. With good performance during the apprenticeship and after successful completion, there are good chances of being hired. You get 30 days of vacation, plus December 24th and 31st are off, and we support you in exam preparation. During the apprenticeship, you will obtain a class B driver's license; we cover the costs within the usual framework (minimum hours, first exam). You receive a monthly lunch allowance and a credit for versatile shopping in common stores (Pluxee card). We cover the costs for a public transport ticket and your school books. To enrich our daily work, there are many events such as summer party, Christmas party, or project events. You will become part of a great team with many apprentices and a dedicated training management.
