• Basic and specialised training in metalworking
• Production of complex components with conventional and CNC-controlled cutting machines
• Setting up and monitoring cutting processes
• Equipping and operating modern production systems and machining centres
• Using various testing and measuring instruments
• Maintaining and providing tools and fixtures
• Analysing and rectifying faults on machines and complex production facilities
• Construction and operation of control engineering systems
• Assembly of subassemblies
• Carrying out quality inspections

• At least lower secondary school leaving certificate (Hauptschulabschluss)
• Good grades in conduct and in the subjects mathematics and physics
• Willingness to learn and perform
