Junior Legal Counsel

Südzucker is an international group of companies headquartered in Mannheim with over 19,000 employees in five segments. Permanent full-time position in Corporate Legal.

• General civil law advice to the divisions and business units of Südzucker AG including its German group companies, and legal support for cross-departmental projects
• Handling court and out-of-court proceedings
• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating national and international contracts, and identifying and assessing legal risks including developing practical and economically viable solutions
• Contributing to the further development of contract templates, legal standards, internal legal processes and digital ways of working in Corporate Legal
• Managing and coordinating external law firms

• Completed 1st and 2nd state law examinations
• Knowledge of general commercial and corporate law
• First relevant work experience is an advantage
• Strong willingness to learn new areas of work
• Structured, independent and solution-oriented way of working, and the ability to present complex legal matters clearly and appropriately for the audience
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Confident use of Microsoft 365 applications and first experience in legal research with common databases, e.g. beck-online
• First experience with digital legal tech and AI applications is an advantage
• Very good English skills
