Automation Technician

Planning, programming and commissioning of automation and control systems for machines and plants – both in the factory and on-site at the customer. Adaptation and optimization of existing control programs, e.g. for PLC, HMI and drive systems. Analysis and rectification of faults on automated plants as well as support in sustainable root cause elimination. Execution of function tests, system checks and technical acceptances. Support and further development of automation solutions in close cooperation with the areas of design, electrical engineering, production and service. Integration of sensors, actuators, drives and other automation components. Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, circuit diagrams and operating instructions. Ensuring compliance with quality, occupational safety and relevant technical regulations. Support in maintenance, servicing and continuous improvement of machines and plants. Participation in technical projects as well as in the implementation of new production and automation concepts.

You have completed technical training in automation technology, electrical engineering, or further training as a technician; a completed degree in electrical engineering, automation technology or a comparable field is an advantage. Also important to us: Several years of professional experience in automation technology, ideally in mechanical or plant engineering. Knowledge of PLC programming in Siemens TIA Portal. Experience with HMI systems, industrial networks as well as electrical drive and control systems. Confidence in troubleshooting and diagnostics on machines and automated plants. Willingness to travel worldwide for commissioning and service assignments. Structured, independent and solution-oriented way of working as well as a pronounced technical understanding. Sense of responsibility, teamwork and clear communication in exchange with internal and external contacts. Proficient use of MS Office; good English skills are an advantage.
