Coater / Thermal Spray Operator

DUMA-BANDZINK GmbH is an internationally active mechanical engineering company based in Mönchengladbach, Germany. For the steel industry, we design, manufacture, assemble, and repair machines and plants in the fields of strip finishing and cold rolling. Worldwide, our products are used in all galvanizing processes. We belong to the SMS group. YOUR TASKS: Preparing and inspecting components for the coating process; carrying out blasting operations for surface preparation and cleaning of components; setting up, operating, and monitoring the HVOF system and its associated cabin; performing thermal spray coatings according to work plans, technical drawings, and process specifications; carrying out sealing operations on coated components according to the respective process requirements; monitoring process parameters and detecting deviations; inspecting components according to specified quality and test criteria; documenting work and test results; supporting maintenance and upkeep of equipment as well as improvement of work processes; complying with quality, occupational safety, and environmental requirements.

You have a completed technical or craft apprenticeship, for example as an industrial mechanic (m/f/d), machining mechanic (m/f/d), coater (m/f/d), or a comparable qualification. Also important: ideally experience in thermal spraying, especially with HVOF systems, as well as blasting and sealing processes; spatial imagination (possibly due to fixtures/robots); experience operating KUKA robots is an advantage; technical understanding and ability to read work plans and technical drawings; careful, reliable, and quality-conscious working style; high safety awareness and willingness to consistently adhere to prescribed protective measures; teamwork skills and willingness to familiarize yourself with new processes and equipment.
