Electrical Engineer / Electrical Technician Automation Technology

At SMS group, you work on the modernization and further development of copper plants and accompany our customers from the first technical idea to successful implementation. You combine automation, engineering, and customer contact and work together with our specialist departments on technically demanding solutions. You support the consultation of our customers regarding modernizations in the field of electrical engineering and automation and develop suitable technical solutions together with our specialist department. You create and edit PLC software and visualizations and participate in the creation of technical specifications as well as functional and requirement specifications. You evaluate technical requirements, perform effort estimates, set up quantity frameworks, and support the preparation of offers. You independently coordinate the technical implementation with our internal specialist departments. You carry out commissioning, plant optimizations, and fault analyses, both remotely and directly at the customer site. You conduct inspections and technical assessments of existing plants and document the results in corresponding reports. You accompany acceptance tests and performance proofs and support complex technical issues in second-level support.

A completed degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, or a comparable qualification, for example as a state-certified technician or master craftsman in electrical engineering. Professional experience in automation, electrical, or industrial plant technology. Good knowledge of Siemens control systems, especially S7 and TIA Portal. Experience in PLC programming according to IEC 61131-3. Very good German skills, at least level C1, as secure technical communication with customers and internal specialist departments is an essential part of your work. Good English skills in word and writing for cooperation with our international customers & colleagues. Willingness to travel nationally and internationally. Ideally, knowledge in one or more of these areas: E-CAD systems such as EPLAN or ELCAD, drive and control technology, experience with visualization systems.
