Qualification to Administrative Specialist (Verwaltungsfachwirt) for Career Changers

The City of Dortmund offers a professional further training course in a compact format with a prospect of being taken on. You usually spend two to three days per week at the Studieninstitut Ruhr in Dortmund and work in a city office on the other days. For the duration of the qualification you receive a fixed-term employment contract. After successful completion there is a permanent job prospect in pay group 9c TVöD. The qualification can only be completed full-time.

• Work in three practical phases in different departments of the city administration
• Legal review of applications and partly independent case handling
• Advising citizens on enquiries (e.g. marriages)
• Deciding individual cases (e.g. building applications)
• Theory classes at Studieninstitut Ruhr (SIR) with interim and final exams

• Abitur or full Fachhochschulreife
• a completed vocational training, or a completed Bachelor's degree or comparable qualification
