Dual Study Program in Social Work with People with Disabilities

The training to become a social worker (f/m/d) combines studies at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University with practical training in the field of social work and participation management at providers of integration assistance for people with disabilities. The training is based on the dual system, so practical and theoretical training phases alternate in blocks.

Familiarization with the tasks, structures, and legal framework of integration assistance for people with disabilities; Determination of participation needs of disabled people according to ICF; Familiarization with social participation, participation in education, participation in work, and medical rehabilitation; Preparation for the initiation of integration assistance; Familiarization with rehabilitation procedures under SGB IX and participation in case conferences; Internal internships (e.g., youth welfare, benefit law SGB IX); External internships (e.g., disability facility)
