Engineer / Architect for Project Management of Large Construction Projects

The Central Building Management of the City of Ulm is responsible for around 350 municipal properties. These include schools, daycare centers, theaters, museums, and historic fortifications. The scope of tasks covers new construction, renovation, and conversion measures as well as building maintenance and facility management. For demanding large-scale construction projects, the Central Building Management assumes project management tasks in addition to the client function and coordinates the cooperation of the involved departments and divisions as well as external planning and project partners. The advertised position reports directly to the head of the main department.

Independent project management of municipal large-scale construction projects according to the AHO service specification Organization, control, and coordination of internal and external stakeholders involved in the project Monitoring and control of project objectives regarding costs, financing, schedules, and quality Coordination of project processes including preparation and support of project management for key project decisions Early identification of project risks and development of appropriate measures

Completed university degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction project management, or a comparable engineering discipline Sound knowledge and experience in project management or project control of construction projects, ideally on the public client side Knowledge of relevant regulations and procedures for project control, particularly the AHO service specification Strong organizational skills and a structured, independent, and responsible way of working Communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to coordinate diverse project stakeholders in a goal-oriented manner and develop viable solutions in cases of conflicting interests Proficient use of common digital work and communication tools
