Apprenticeship as an Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering

Training with the Cologne Municipal Drainage Services in a future-proof industry. The role supports environmental protection and combines practical work on electrical systems with vocational-school instruction.

Plan, install and commission electrical devices and systems; repair and maintain electrical systems; configure and programme control systems; ensure the power supply for motors, controls and lighting at the wastewater treatment plant; attend block vocational-school classes at Werner-von-Siemens-Berufskolleg in Cologne.

Realschulabschluss or Hauptschulabschluss Type B; at least satisfactory grades in physics and mathematics; logical thinking and spatial awareness; manual dexterity, interest in technology, team spirit and a careful working style; initial practical experience through craft-related internships is desirable.

Daily contribution to environmental protection; intensive support from trainers and training coordinators; gross monthly pay of more than €1,300 in the first year plus an annual special payment; free Deutschland-Ticket and 31 days of annual leave; annual apprentice team days and other events; possible shortening of the training programme for good performance; responsibility from the start and participation in apprentice projects; varied development opportunities; iPhones and iPads throughout the training; opportunity for a voluntary four-week internship abroad in Europe; subsidy for an Urban Sports Club membership.
