About this Apprenticeship
Maritime, colorful, diverse, and special – that's Hamburg. Here people greet each other with 'Moin' even in the afternoon, they go not only to but also onto the Dom, and when it storms elsewhere, in Hamburg it's just a light breeze. From the harbor you go out into the wide world, but everyone also likes to anchor again at the Landungsbrücken. Just like this cosmopolitan city, we – the Studierendenwerk Hamburg – are colorful and special and guide around 70,000 German and international students through their studies and university life with diverse services: affordable food, dormitories, financial support, childcare, counseling – we ensure there's always a hand's breadth of water under the keel. We also give our employees tailwind and support them at full steam on their very personal course in their meaningful and fulfilling work. Working at Studierendenwerk Hamburg – Meaningful, secure, sympathetic! For the start, progress, and success of studies, financing is crucial. The Student Financing Department conducts – with about 100 employees at two locations – the BAföG domestic funding for all students at Hamburg universities as well as nationwide BAföG foreign funding for all pupils and students who complete part of their training in the USA. Annually we pay out around 85 million in funding. Every BAföG application is as individual as the people behind it. For the careful and reliable processing of applications, we are looking for reinforcement for our BAföG team as of 01.02.2027.
