Depending on the assignment area – whether in daycare, school, youth centre, or open and project-based offers – your daily work looks very different. You accompany children and adolescents in their development, pick up on their interests and needs, and design suitable pedagogical offerings together with your team. You create spaces for learning, trying out and co-designing and support young people in discovering their strengths and acting increasingly independently. From the start you are part of a pedagogical team, take on increasing responsibility and are professionally supervised. This way you gradually develop confidence in your pedagogical actions.

• Intermediate school leaving certificate and successful completion of the vocational college for social pedagogy
• or intermediate school leaving certificate and a relevant pedagogical vocational training, e.g. as a social pedagogical assistant
• or advanced technical college entrance qualification or Abitur and a six-week internship in a socio-pedagogical institution
• or intermediate school leaving certificate, at least two years of completed vocational training and a six-week internship in a socio-pedagogical institution
• or intermediate school leaving certificate and at least two years of full-time work with children in a socio-pedagogical institution
