During your three-and-a-half-year vocational training, you will learn in our plant and at vocational school, among other things: how mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical machines work, the basics of steel processing and the processes for forming steel, how to handle operating and auxiliary materials and how to read and create technical drawings, how to correctly assess the importance of occupational safety and environmental protection, how to plan and organize work and evaluate work results. As a Process Technologist: Metal, specializing in Steel Forming, you monitor and control the plants on which we produce flat steel. You optimize work processes and are responsible for the quality of the products produced. After the apprenticeship, you have the opportunity to further qualify as a master craftsperson or technician or to pursue a degree.

During your apprenticeship you will receive an attractive remuneration (according to the collective agreement of the iron and steel industry NRW; as of 01.01.2026): €1,196.45 in the first apprenticeship year, €1,251.45 in the second apprenticeship year, €1,334.45 in the third apprenticeship year, €1,440.45 in the fourth apprenticeship year.
