CNC Machinist, Turning and Milling

TKMS is one of the leading system providers in the design and construction of submarines and naval surface ships, as well as maritime security technologies. This posting covers 2 positions at the Wismar site.

• Operating a CNC-controlled gantry portal milling machine to machine large shipbuilding components, including independently clamping and aligning the components using reference dimensions
• Producing running surfaces, fit dimensions and demanding surfaces according to the drawings and standards
• Selecting suitable tools, assembling them, carrying out necessary presettings and using the tools efficiently; hand-programming simple CNC programs and adapting or optimizing existing programs on a Siemens840Dsl control
• Carrying out maintenance and repair work on the machine tools as part of daily care
• Taking on crane work in the production area

• Successfully completed training as a machining mechanic (Zerspanungsmechaniker) specializing in milling, ideally with several years of experience in CNC machining
• Experience in aligning and fixing large components and sound knowledge of the Siemens840Dsl control; knowledge of Heidenhain controls and common IT systems is an advantage
• Strong sense of responsibility, strong ability to improvise and strong organizational skills
• Conceptual thinking combined with a high attention to detail
• Independent and flexible work, strong teamwork and people skills, and willingness to do shift work and international business trips
