Apprenticeship: High School Graduate and Retail Management Specialist Program for Future Managers

For the training start on 01.08.2027, toom is looking for you as a future toomworker for an apprenticeship as a junior manager in the DIY store sector. Respect, mutual appreciation and support are at the center. Within 18 months you earn your title as retail merchant, followed by 22 months of further training to become a certified retail management specialist (Handelsfachwirt) and the trainer certificate (AdA). The training takes place within store opening hours.

• In the program for high school graduates and retail management specialists for future managers, you are involved in our company from day one and get to know retail, toom and all processes up close on the store floor from different perspectives
• Within 18 months you already earn your title as retail merchant (m/f/d), and then complete the further training to become a retail management specialist and the trainer certificate (AdA) in 22 months
• You go through the various specialist departments in the store, acquire specific knowledge of our ranges and learn how to advise customers optimally and hold sales conversations
• You also accompany the store's managers in their daily work and are perfectly prepared for starting as a junior manager
• Approximately every 6 weeks you attend 5-day theory modules at our training provider in Neuwied and benefit from excellent learning conditions thanks to small course groups

• General university entrance qualification or advanced technical college entrance qualification
• Outgoing personality and enjoyment of dealing with customers
• Interest in retail and in our DIY store range
• A high level of communication skills
• Enjoy working in a team and later leading one yourself
• High commitment, resilience and plenty of talent for self-organization
• Regional flexibility (for the further training to become a retail management specialist)
