• As part of your thesis you will work on projects concerning the design and simulation of high-performance optics for material processing
• Using FEM methods as well as ray and wave optical simulations you analyze complex optical systems
• In concept creation and prototype design you develop solutions for demanding test setups and simulate their behavior
• Through the setup, execution and analysis of experiments you verify your concepts in practice
• With modern development tools such as Zemax, VirtualLab, Matlab, LabView, ANSYS and SolidWorks Simulation you implement your ideas technically

• A degree in mechanical engineering, physical engineering, physics, computational engineering or a comparable qualification forms your technical basis
• Ideally you bring first theoretical or practical experience in the field of precision mechanics, laser or optics
• With a structured and independent way of working as well as analytical and conceptual skills you grasp new topics quickly
• In team collaboration you show initiative and willingness to perform
• Very good German and English skills in word and writing round off your profile
