Internship in Data Engineering and Data Science (Summer Semester 2027)

Internship at TRUMPF in Ditzingen in data engineering and data science for students, starting in the summer semester 2027.

• You play a central role in designing, developing and implementing scalable data pipelines and ETL processes in the Azure cloud, for example with Azure Data Factory, Databricks or Synapse
• When collecting, cleaning and processing large heterogeneous datasets, you also apply advanced statistical methods and data mining techniques to identify patterns, anomalies and drivers in the data
• In machine learning and artificial intelligence, you research, develop and evaluate models to solve practical problems and derive optimization measures by comparing different model approaches
• By developing interactive dashboards and visualizations, you communicate analysis results clearly and support operational decisions
• By implementing data lifecycle management strategies, for example in governance, versioning, monitoring and data security, you contribute to reproducible and maintainable data products

• With a degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, mechanical engineering or a comparable field, ideally focused on data engineering or data science/analytics, you bring a solid professional foundation
• You have good to very good skills in programming languages such as Python, SQL or MATLAB
• First experience with databases and data processing and visualization tools such as PySpark, pandas, Databricks or Power BI is desirable, as is knowledge of machine learning algorithms and tools such as scikit-learn or TensorFlow
• With good communication skills and teamwork, you actively shape collaboration in an interdisciplinary team and impress with a structured, independent way of working, analytical and conceptual skills and quick comprehension
• With high motivation and willingness to learn as well as very good German and good English skills, spoken and written, you round off your profile
