Apprenticeship as Healthcare Management Clerk

At University Hospital Tübingen, one of the largest university hospitals in Germany, you learn how healthcare, administration and business come together. During the three-year apprenticeship you rotate through various commercial and organizational departments, from patient admissions through the HR department to finance. The school part takes place at the vocational school in Stuttgart. The hospital covers the travel costs. Depending on your interest, you can help shape the elective qualification module yourself, e.g. in human resources or assistance / secretarial work.

• Organization, administration and billing of services with health insurers and other payers
• Personnel administration, for example payroll and contract processing
• Purchasing, materials management and operational logistics
• Accounting, controlling and financial bookkeeping
• Quality management and introduction to project work
• Legal foundations in the healthcare sector

• Good intermediate school certificate (mittlere Reife) or (technical) Abitur
• First experience in healthcare is an advantage, e.g. through internships, federal volunteer service (BFD) or voluntary social year (FSJ)
• Interest in health, commercial contexts and business topics
• Communication skills, high flexibility and initiative
• Carefulness, willingness to learn and team spirit
