Specialist Physician in Urology as Head of Section Conservative Uro-Oncology

The Conservative Uro-Oncology section of the University Hospital for Urology combines specialised, evidence-based patient care with clinical research in sponsor-initiated and investigator-initiated studies. It offers a demanding clinical and scientific environment with many opportunities to develop uro-oncological care concepts and to actively help shape clinical research.

• Medical leadership and strategic development of the Conservative Uro-Oncology section, ensuring evidence-based, guideline-based and patient-focused care
• Diagnosis, therapy and care of patients with urological tumour diseases, with particular attention to modern drug-based tumour therapies and individualised treatment concepts
• Initiating, planning and conducting clinical studies and strategically developing the uro-oncology study portfolio together with the study outpatient unit and national and international partners
• Ensuring interdisciplinary collaboration with the disciplines and professional groups involved, leading uro-oncology tumour boards and developing cross-section treatment pathways
• Responsibility for the organisational, structural and economic development of the section, including optimising clinical processes, efficient use of staff and material resources, quality assurance, promoting scientific activity and the professional development of staff

• Specialist physician in urology with proven clinical expertise in conservative uro-oncology
• Habilitation as a minimum requirement
• Comprehensive knowledge of drug-based tumour therapy and of guideline-based diagnosis and treatment of urological malignancies
• Experience in clinical research and study coordination, ideally with independent involvement in planning, conducting and scientifically evaluating clinical studies
• Strong leadership and management skills as well as experience in interdisciplinary collaboration and in developing clinical structures and processes
• Strong understanding of economic contexts in healthcare, combined with the ability to manage resources efficiently and develop medical care structures with a focus on quality
• Proven basic qualification in leadership or willingness to acquire it
