About this Apprenticeship
As a locomotive driver at the Nuremberg site you operate locomotives for shunting on the plant grounds and support production when needed.
What You'll Learn
- Safe operation of our locomotives for shunting on our plant grounds
- Carrying out function checks on the locomotive and the radio remote control as well as independent, regular maintenance and care work
- Carrying out brake tests, coupling and uncoupling wagons and checking the train equipment
- Continuous training and familiarisation with new rules and regulations under the locomotive driver licence regulation (TfV)
- Accompanying and supporting maintenance and care of the infrastructure (e.g. switch lubrication, visual inspections)
- Supporting production when needed, e.g. in internal transport or logistics tasks
Requirements
- Completed training as a locomotive driver (m/f/d) or comparable qualification in railway operations
- Valid locomotive driver licence under TfV and ideally an additional certificate for shunting service
- Sound knowledge of the locomotive driver regulations as well as vehicle technology and wagon inspection
- Willingness to help in production, e.g. crane operation, welding machine operation or cutting rails to size
- Enjoy teamwork and willingness to work in a 2-shift system (early and late shift)
