Apprenticeship as Industrial Mechanic for Maintenance

The WTV supplies drinking water for around 800,000 people in the Bonn/Rhine-Sieg/Ahr region. Around 230 specialized employees from a wide range of professional groups work in water extraction, drinking water treatment and distribution, administration, and water and soil protection. • You carry out maintenance work on pumps and pipes of the drinking water supply with various machines.
• For this you learn how to read and create technical documents.
• The individual work steps are then planned and carried out by you.
• Metalworking in all forms: measuring, marking, testing, bending, straightening, soldering, shearing, controlling, screwing, wedging, welding - our trainers teach you all these things.
• During commissioning and maintenance of machines, devices and systems you can contribute your manual skills in a team.
• After training you know everything about pneumatic, electro-pneumatic and hydraulic work.
• Creating simple CNC programs and manufacturing simple workpieces on CNC-controlled machine tools round off this varied job.

• A successful school leaving certificate (at least Hauptschule) is required.
• You are curious about how metal can be processed.
• You enjoy manual work.
• Spatial imagination is no problem for you.
• You have a good comprehension for reading and creating technical documents.
