Apprenticeship as an Industrial Mechanic, starting 1 August 2027

A 3.5-year apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic working on chemical plants at Knapsack Chemical Park. You will assemble mechanical components, read technical drawings, troubleshoot, and inspect, maintain and repair equipment. The program provides insight into various trades and opportunities for additional qualifications.

Assemble and install mechanical components in chemical plants, from pumps to pressure lines. Inspect and maintain equipment regularly to prevent failures. Replace defective parts, repair machines and restore systems. Read technical drawings and assembly plans. Work with hazardous substances under safety rules and in explosion-protected areas.

At least an intermediate school-leaving certificate (FOR), ideally with good grades in mathematics and physics. Technical understanding, manual skills, teamwork, visual imagination and strong spatial reasoning.
