Student Assistant / Working Student Geriatric Psychiatry

Student assistant or working student position in geriatric psychiatry at Asklepios Klinik Nord in Hamburg, on an hourly basis.

• Support with compliance with isolation and hygiene measures in coordination with the nursing staff
• Take over room and sitting watches as well as 1:1 observations as instructed by the nursing staff
• Presence in front of patient rooms when special monitoring is needed
• Accompany patients within the ward, e.g. to the bathroom, the lounge or the patient room
• Observe the patient's condition and immediately inform the nursing staff of anything unusual or need for support
• Support with non-nursing tasks in daily ward life, e.g. reading aloud, walks, and preparing and clearing up meals

• You are an enrolled student
• Enjoyment of working with elderly and mentally ill people
• Empathy, patience and an appreciative attitude
• Calm and level-headed manner, even in challenging situations
• Sense of responsibility and reliability
• Attentive perception and the ability to recognize changes in patients' behavior or condition early
• Willingness to cooperate with the nursing staff and the multiprofessional treatment team
• Willingness to work shifts and weekends
