Civil Engineer Structural Engineering

Autobahn GmbH des Bundes is looking for civil engineers for structural engineering. Thousands of bridges, hundreds of tunnels and many ancillary facilities must be regularly inspected, maintained and renewed. Pay follows pay group E13.

• Responsibility for engineering structures (bridges, tunnels, retaining walls, noise barriers, culverts) across the whole cycle of planning, construction and operation, and prioritizing maintenance and replacement projects
• Planning and design under HOAI, including determining construction methods and reviewing execution documents
• Carrying out permit reviews and providing technical support for planning approval procedures
• Managing and coordinating external engineering firms and interdisciplinary coordination; attending construction meetings and managing deadlines and milestones
• Carrying out condition assessments and determining remaining service life, and developing concepts for replacement structures until building rights are obtained
• Technical contact for recalculations, approvals, construction execution, technical regulations and fundamental questions, preparing expert statements on third-party plans and communicating with municipalities, associations and residents

• Completed university or university of applied sciences degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering, or equivalent knowledge, qualifications and experience
• Sound knowledge and many years of professional experience in structural engineering; in-depth technical, legal and methodological knowledge of the Federal Trunk Roads Act (FStrG), ZTV-ING and procurement law (GWB, VgV, UVgO) is desirable
• Experience in releasing execution documents under § 4 FStrG is desirable
• Knowledge of iTWO and good MS Office skills
