Specialist Road Traffic Authority

To support the team, the Autobahn GmbH des Bundes is looking for a Specialist Road Traffic Authority (m/f/d) in Hannover, starting at the earliest possible date. Pay follows pay group E13 under the MTV-Autobahn. Selection is made by a committee.

• Ensure uniform application of road traffic law requirements on federal motorways, make independent decisions on traffic orders and help set basic principles under Autobahn GmbH guidelines
• Enforce the road traffic regulations (StVO): process and decide on exemption permits, licences and traffic orders, and support and coordinate approval processes for traffic management plans
• Professional networking, representing the department in committees, expert boards and project meetings, and coordinating internal and external inquiries as part of reporting
• Technical supervision of the field offices in traffic law matters, advising on complex questions, exercising the right of reservation, and developing basic rules, instructions and work procedures
• Prepare statements and handle complex, partly politically sensitive road traffic law matters

• Completed university or university of applied sciences degree in civil engineering with a focus on transport, or equivalent expertise, qualifications and experience
• Ideally many years of professional experience in a road traffic authority and solid knowledge of road and traffic law
• Knowledge of the relevant rules and regulations, especially StVO, VwV-StVO, FStrG, RSA, ASR A5.2, RWBA and RBAP
• Class B driving licence and willingness to travel regularly on business
• Desirable: knowledge of the General Circulars of the Federal Ministry of Transport (ARS BMV)
