Project Engineer Telematics Systems

Die Autobahn GmbH des Bundes is looking for a project engineer for telematics systems as soon as possible. You will play a central role in planning, implementing and developing modern traffic telematics systems on federal motorways and federal roads.

• Central role in planning, implementing and developing modern traffic telematics systems on federal motorways and federal roads
• Comprehensive project coordination from planning through design to construction preparation of telematics systems
• Concept and planning of the telematics infrastructure, taking into account technical regulations, administrative rules and legal requirements
• Project management for new construction, conversion and retrofit measures, including tendering, award preparation, supervision and billing
• Carrying out traffic engineering studies during preliminary planning (inventory analyses, traffic forecasts, traffic generation calculations)
• Preparing cost-effectiveness and impact studies for traffic telematics systems
• Coordination talks with internal and external parties, attending site visits and representing projects to organizations and affected third parties
• Contributing to innovation and pilot projects and to specialist working groups

• Completed university or university of applied sciences degree in traffic engineering, or comparable expertise, qualifications and experience
• Ideally practical experience in planning, design, construction preparation and construction execution, plus solid project management knowledge
• Familiarity with drawing up and handling engineering, construction and maintenance contracts, and knowledge of procurement and contract law
• Knowledge of relevant technical standards and regulations (e.g. MARZ, RE-ING, RWVA, RWVZ) as well as federal building administration rules and federal budget law
• Fluent German at C1 level, class B driving licence and willingness to travel on business
• Desirable: knowledge of technical data processing, especially CAD and GIS applications
• An advantage: experience with software such as iTWO, SAP or similar programs
