Apprenticeship as Health Insurance Management Clerk

Apprenticeship at BARMER, one of Germany’s largest statutory health insurers. The apprenticeship starts on August 1, 2027, combines theory and practice, and prepares trainees for advising insured people and working in social insurance.

Develop into an expert in social insurance; advise people on health topics; learn about the processes and services of a statutory health insurer; apply knowledge of health, prevention, membership and contributions; process applications; understand customer concerns and find suitable solutions; learn and work as part of a team.

Intermediate school-leaving qualification, university entrance qualification, several semesters of university study or completed vocational training; interest in health and the German healthcare system; good communication skills and empathy; team spirit; very good German skills at least at C1 level.

Flexible working hours and up to 37 days of holiday; December 24 and 31 are days off; home office with a mobile device; seminars, feedback meetings, personal support and a trainee network; nearly 100% retention rate; possibility to shorten the apprenticeship by six months with good performance; apprenticeship pay of €1,500 in the first year, €1,580 in the second year and €1,660 in the third year; 38-hour week; up to 39 days of holiday; holiday and Christmas bonuses; flexitime model with home office option; part-time option; collective agreements and regular salary increases.
