Test Automation Engineer

Permanent full-time position in Cologne in BRUNATA-METRONA's central IT team. The team develops and manages the company's IT solutions, from the customer portal and billing system to the digital workplace.

• Analyse product requirements and develop suitable test scenarios, test cases and a testing approach
• Plan, carry out and evaluate manual and automated software tests
• Develop, maintain and improve automated tests and test suites, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines
• Analyse, document and track defects
• Advise business departments and IT on defining acceptance and sign-off criteria
• Use and further develop test automation tools such as Playwright, FlaUI, Ranorex and Postman
• Support users with test management tools such as aqua
• Organise, obtain and provide suitable test data
• Contribute to traditional and agile projects
• Share knowledge and support colleagues with test automation and testing tools

• At least five years of experience in software testing, particularly API and UI testing
• Strong experience in developing automated tests
• At least good knowledge of one programming language: Java, C#, Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, plus knowledge of SQL
• Initial experience in test automation with Playwright, FlaUI and Postman is desirable
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines is desirable
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proactive communication suited to the audience
• A collaborative, independent, structured and well-organised working style
• Very good German skills, at least C1
